2019 Spring Rendezvous

Abilene was an eventful TTFHA Spring Rendezvous. Between the wild Texas weather and a few unfortunate incidents, this rendezvous will live on as the stories are retold.

The Taylor County Expo did a fantastic job in supplying enough dirt to cover a small arena. This enabled Jay Krottinger (Dist. 1 Director) and his crew to set up a realistic habitat for all types of trapping. However, weather was not in our favor to be under the pavilion and demos were moved inside on Saturday.

A big "Thank You" goes out to all of the presenters for their flexibility and understanding. Many of them traveled several hours, or days, on the road and their time is greatly appreciated. Unfortunately, one of the presenters couldn't make it due to the inclement weather between his home and Abilene, but we hope to see him again in the future. We also want to thank the TTFHA members called upon to help at the last minute.

A big THANK YOU also to all of our auction donors and bidders. You never know what you might find at our auction, this year's item of interest were Japanese glass balls that dated prior to 1964 and had been found on the beach of the Bering Sea. The good-natured bidding wars always keep the auction fun and fast paced. A special thanks to Matt Carter as auctioneer.

Lastly, we would like to thank members and spectators that attended. Our rendezvous coincided with a team roping, barrel race and Cajun Fest all on the same fair grounds. We did have some curious folks wander in to see what we were about and they were greeted warmly. It is always a pleasure to meet new faces and get to know them. As always we gained new members and got to visit with some old.
