District Meeting March 16, 2019

On March 16th District 3 & 4 held a meeting at the home of District 3, Keith Jacksons, in Alto. TX. The meeting was well attended by trappers from both districts. About 40 people showed up to enjoy the wonderful weather and good fellowship. A meal that was fit for a king was provided and many guest provided some wonderful disserts.

We had some very interesting demos from some of the best east Texas trappers around. Daryl Cook from San Augustine showed us his method of fence snaring. Ed Snelson did a coyote demo and David Simpson demonstrated his all in one snare stake. Earl Blakney covered the skinning demo. Michael Brigman showed how to remove the castor glands from beaver.

Our president, Don Hightower, filled everyone in all the goings on in the trapping community and within the Texas association. All in all it was a good meeting.

These are some pictures from the in the field demo in Abilene. Due to the weather we had to take up the traps a day early but was still able to catch a nice bobcat. Earl Blakney and Keith Jackson were instructors.
